The Seventh Capacity
Maturity is the point at which formation becomes responsibility.
Maturity is not simply age, knowledge, achievement or independence. Something may exist for a long time without ever becoming mature. Maturity is revealed when what has been formed becomes capable of sustaining life beyond itself.
A mature tree bears fruit and seed. A mature person becomes capable not only of receiving care, but of giving it. A mature community carries memory forward while preparing another generation to live wisely within changing conditions.
The journey through reception, nurture, protection, relationship, carrying and regeneration points toward this moment. What has been carefully formed must eventually become capable of expression.

Maturity is not becoming
self-sufficient.
It is becoming life-giving.
The Human Question
What if the measure of maturity were not what we possess, but what our lives are capable of producing?
A society can confuse accumulation with maturity. More wealth, more information, more technology and more power may expand what a civilization can do without necessarily deepening its wisdom.
Maturity introduces another measure: fruit. What does our knowledge produce? What does our power protect? What does our progress make possible for those who come after us?
The mature person also learns to live beyond immediate appetite. Choice is no longer governed only by what can be obtained now, but by an awareness of consequence, relationship and future generations.
Maturity therefore completes the feminine architecture not by ending formation, but by transforming what has been formed into a source of life for others.
